The mission of the Black Writers' Guild of Maryland, Inc. is to provide avenues of support and networking to Maryland's African-American diverse writers.

Major programs and activities:


  • Workshops that educate writers on the aspects of writing and publishing.
  • Showcases to provide forums for writers to find their voice through public presentations of their work.
  • Mentoring to youth and adults who have an interest in finding their literary voice.


Come join us!  We meet the first Saturday of the month (September to June) from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. at:

Enoch Pratt Library, 4330 Edmondson Avenue, Baltimore, MD  21229

Meetings are free for current members. Annual membership is $35.00.  For all others, the donation is $5.00. Donations can be made via the link above.  Bring a friend!
